CPD Requirements – Australian HR Institute (AHRI)

Professional members of the Australian HR Institute (AHRI) must complete a minimum of 60 CPD hours over a rolling three-year period to maintain their membership level. This requirement applies to Certified Members and Fellows as outlined in AHRI's membership by-laws. Members may be audited at any time and must be able to demonstrate CPD compliance through documented records.

The CPD period is rolling, meaning that during an audit, members must show evidence of 60 CPD hours completed within the three years immediately prior. Members are expected to record their CPD activities in the AHRI member portal and retain supporting documentation, such as attendance certificates, course records, or copies of written work.

AHRI recognizes the diverse needs of members, including those based in remote locations or outside of Australia. Members unable to attend AHRI events may accrue CPD through relevant external training, webinars, or conferences, provided the activity contributes to their professional development in the HR field.

Course Eligibility & Compliance

To qualify as CPD under AHRI requirements, activities must:

  • Be relevant to the member’s HR practice or specialisation.
  • Contribute to professional capability or knowledge advancement.
  • Include preparation, research, or delivery of professional content, where applicable.
  • Be clearly documented with learning outcomes or demonstrable application.

AHRI does not require accreditation or pre-approval of CPD providers. Members are responsible for ensuring that any CPD activity recorded is appropriate and aligns with AHRI’s framework.

Reporting and Verification

Members must document all CPD activity in the AHRI member portal and maintain supporting records. AHRI may conduct annual CPD audits to confirm compliance. Members selected for audit must respond to requests for clarification or evidence of CPD activities.
